VIDEO: Whose Waterfronts?

This video was made in partnership with life-long residents of the Afikpo waterfront in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria who participated in our trainings and who were equipped with camera-enabled cell phones. The video represents a maturation of the Media for Justice Project towards more participant-made co-productions. Our view is that the more people equipped and trained to make media in their communities, the more their ideas, aspirations, and takes on life will be shared and heard. This is especially important for people livining in the Port Harcourt waterfront communities who face isolation, poverty and an overwhelming campaign of mis-information meant to turn public opinion against them and thereby help the government move along with unlawful forced evictions and dubious urban renewal schemes.
